Oscar and the Wolf x Marie Adam-Leenaerdt

It began as a friendship, not a project. Max and Marie cook together, eat together, talk for hours over a plate of pasta. Somewhere between the kitchen and the creative studios, the idea of making something together stopped being an idea.

Two true artists, one instinct: emotion first, form after. She turns it into cut and construction. He turns it into a live show. The look they created is where the two meet: made for one artist, by another, for the biggest Belgian nights of the year.

A stage is not a runway. Up there, a garment has to do what a song does: reach the back of the field and still feel intimate. Marie designs clothes the way Max writes music, stripping away everything that does not carry emotion, keeping only what moves. Her precision, his abandon. Fashion that performs, music you can see.

The process looked like the friendship. No brief, no agency, no distance: dinners that turned into sketches, sketches into fittings, two friends deciding together how an artist steps into the biggest nights of his summer. And the look was never a costume added on top. It was drawn into the show's art direction from the start, a stage draped in immense curtains and sculptural clouds, fabric running from the set to the silhouette. One vision, worn and performed.

This summer the show comes home.

Two Brussels artists who do not speak the same language: a French-speaking designer, a Dutch-speaking musician. One Flemish show at Lokerse Feesten, one Walloon show at Ronquières Festival. Between the two of them, the whole country.
